Workshop Evaluation

-How did you use 180 degree rule, rule of thirds & match on action?(screengrabs to illustrate points)
In my video I used the 180 degree rule from my two characters such as interviewer and interviewee having a conversation. For this my camera was placed on the right hand side over shoulder for both characters and stayed on the same side rather than one charter on than the right hand side and the opposite characters on the left hand side this is to keep it visually consistent. Match on action was used in my video by the interviewer exiting the set (room) in one shot and the second shot him going through the door i had to make sure this flowed really well and was precise.

-What challenges did you face during production? What would you change if you were to  film again?
The main challenge I faced during the production was being constant throughout every shot such as being aware of small details such as at the end of one shot standing in one position with hands crossed and at the beginning of the next shot hands are uncrossed and standing in another place which makes it seem as if there has been a jump. I will make sure all my shots flow together well. What i would change when filiming again is that myself and whoever is in the shot is aware of everything that is being recorded is in the same posisition in everyshot unless moved it is intentionally meant to e moved nd will not effect the consistency.
-What challenges did you face during post-production? what would you change?
The challenges I faced during my production were making sure my shots flowed smoothly throughout the video such as noticing small details which made my videos inconsistent. I edited in Imove which i havent used before the editing of my production so i found editing my prodution challegingand editing the shots at the right place to make my shot flow consistently with making it look as if there was any jumps making sure the shots were cut at the right place  my production i had a few problems with this throughout which means next time i should be aware of small details aswell as major details which will make my production flow together well.

-What are the overall strengths of your work? Why?- Creativity, Planning and research, digital technology, post production( screen grabs to illustrate points)
The overall strengths of my work was the planning and research. I used a storyboard to structure my ideas for my production but also done research on shot types such as shot reverse shot and match on action. This gave me  a clear understanding of how these are meant to look which made it easier for me to put these in my work from this it was used well in my video. As my planning and research went well I also did not have to  make any major alterations when editing my shots together. The storybardwas used for  my shot types, order of the shot, setting, description of shots ect..
Example of storyboard

-What are the overall weaknesses of your work? Why?- Creativity, Planning and research, digital technology, post production( screen grabs to illustrate points)
The overall weakness of my production will have to of been the creatvity. The shots could of been made to look more interesting instead of using them in a basic way such as are having the camera at an diaganal angle to make it visual interesting.Another weakness is the digital technology when editing in  iMovie '11 i found it difficult to get the hang of how to use the editing tools even after beening showed how it works  but have not used this programme before this is a weaknesses becauase i did not get to do as much editing i would of like to do to my production as I did not how to do so, if i had mmore time with imove i believe i could of done more editing to my production than i have.

-What overall improvements would you make to your work? Why?

The overall improvements I would make is to be sure of small details within shots are noticed such as making sure there is continuity. This is because it is easy to not realise there is a small change in the throughout the shots that makes the production look as if it had jumped without intention it also make the video look unprofessional the mistake made in my production was not making sure everything in my shots are placed in the same areas when recording eg a pen on a desk if not moved by the character i should make sure that throughout each shot the pen is in the same position on the desk noticing small detail such as this may determine if my production looks professional or unprofessional also make my shots come together smoothly.
