CVS Evaluation

CVS Evaluation
What were you asked to do?
I was asked by my teacher to create a promotional video of my own chosen charity within a group, we chose to create a video of RDWWA Charity.
Who/what were you making a video about?
I was making a video for the RDWWA Charity which runs for the support of disabled Asian women

.
What was the purpose of the video?

The purpose for this video was to create a promotional video that will hightlight the charity which will get more people to support it

What did you do in each production stage?
-Pre production
For this stage i had to research different type of promotional video's and learn more about what CVS was about to get more of an understanding on what i would be making.
-Production
For production i had to video clips to compelete my promotional video.
-Post productionFor editing i had to put together clips to create a convincing promotional video.

What problems did you encounter and how did you solve them?I found it hard editing as there way so many clips to chose from alsogetting the right information was hard.

What were your strengths and weaknesses in each stage
what is your opinion of the finsihed product?
My strengths..

Getting more out of your camera

EXPOSUREIs the amount of light captured from your camera. To much exposure can make the image look washed out/very bright or if the exposure falls to short it then can then make an image look to dark

Using the exposure can damage or improve my photo in this case the need of exposure was not needed because of the right balance of light. In one of my photos the exposure was to high making it look washed out and unclear to see what the image was and in another photo the image was to dark making it also hard to see what the image was but having the right amount of exposure can give you a clear image of what the image is.

FLASH
Flash is used to produce artificial light, flash does not working when taking picture of reflective surfaces, people eyes or long distances as the light is only a short range.
I used this within my photos on a reflective object and eyes with flash on and off to see the difference flash has no use with taking a picture of and reflective image as it only damages the photo with the reflected light rather than make it clearer and also in some cases taking a photo of a persons eyes may cause them to have red eyes but some cameras are designed to prevent this.

 Aspect ratio & Megapixel
Aspect ratio describes the relationship between the width and the height.Megapixels are made up millions or tiny dots the higher the pixels the clearer the picture.

The aspects ratio made my image into more of an rectangle shape which is mostly used for TV as the framing are more longer usually people do not change the size of the photo as the normal size would be 4:3 that is already set in most cameras

WHITE BALANCE
White balance is process of removing unrealistic colour cast.
Using white balance in my photos gave my photos more of a blue/cold image which is completely different from the original photo it also makes the actual colours within my photos unclear, so i found the use of (WB) damaging to my photos rather than improving

IOS(SENSITIVITY)
IOS is the amount of light your camera needs to take a good photo, In a dark place the IOS would be at its highest to make a clear photo in a more lighter place the IOS will be made to be on a lower level to keep your photo clear.

I used the IOS in my photos by adjusting to the amount of light there was while taking the photos. Such as in the darker place were i would not be able to see the subject clearly i had the IOS higher to make a light for a clear veiw of the subjects. The IOS improved my images because it helped make the subjects in dull setting look more clear.

AF Mode

AF means auto focus which is to do with what part of your image you are focusing on depending on the camera determines if you get to control AF mode more expensive cameras may allow you to do so.
AF mode was used in my images by taking a close up of a small object with different AF modes. The Af mode made my object more sharp and clear as it was in focus of my object i found that this had improved my images

BURST

Burst allows you to take several quick photos one after the other by holding down on the shutter, this is mainly used for quick moving objects that only happens for a short period of time. This is useful because it gives the photographer more of a chance to get that perfect photo when trying to capture something that only happens for a short period of time.

This was useful when taking a photo of two pupils walking down the stairs not only does it capture there whole movement it also gives you more photos to chose from and more of a chance for that perfect photo which is hard to get when taking a photo of and moving object.so this improved my photos.

Culture day

Culture day

This is a picture of the London eye in this photo i used the technique "Landscape".

This is a picture of two pupuls in this photo i used the technique "Portrait".
This is a birds eye view of londons buildings in this photo i used the effect "sapia"

This is a landscape photo in this i used the technique "rule of thirds"
In this photo i played around w8ith balancing elements the landscape wpould be the center of attention but instead i placed a objected within the london eye to give it more of a fill.

In this photo i took a portrait of pupils eating chinese iplayed around with the effect "black and white"

Here is a landscape photo for this i played around with the effect "cool"

A Photo of big ben close up

This photo is a landscape photo of the london eye from a far distant

Here is an overshot shoulder of a pupil on the london eye

Photo or the london eye at the highest peak

In vitoria gardens i took a photo of the walk path diagonallly

Diagonal photo of the bridge/water from and birds eye view.

This photo was taken iu a dark place i tried using white balance but did not put it to its highest to capture the images.

Photo of a pupil i played around with the IOS at 1000

Photo of a pupil i played around with the IOS at 80
Photo of london eyes doors in this i used the technique symmtery

Photography composistion

Photography composistion

Composistion rule 1:Portait and landscape

This rule is used when taking a picture of a person and  landscape.Protrait is used when caturing a person this means the camera is held in a long posistion.landscape is the capturing backgrounds such as lanscapes which means holding your camera in a wide position.
My pictures half way meets this rule as i have taken a protrait for people and landscape for background the only difference i would make for next time is to make sure my landscape photos have no people in it so this will not distract from what my photo is meant to be of.

 Composistion rule 2:
The rule of thirdsThe rule of thirds is used when taking a photo of a person/ landscape such as if the subject is  person there eyes are place within the one third of the way down of the screen . If taking a picture of a landscape where the land meets the sky will be in the top third grid  on the camera but if the sky is the subject in a landscape where the sky meets the land
will be placedin the  bottom third of the grids.

I perfromed this rule in my photos by making sure the long shot of this pupil has his eyes in the top third of my photo, and in my landscape where the subject is the sky ive placed the horizon the in the bottom third of my camera also in my second landscape as its more of land i have placed the horizon in the top thired of my camera.

Composistion rule 3
Diagonal ruleThe diagonal rule is when liner elements are placed diagonally to give more of an interesting look this is known to be more interesting than horizontially placed ones.To use this rule the straight line of your object has to be framed diagonally so going across the screen.
I used this rule in my photos by taking a picture of two doors in an diagonally this works beacuse the doors have a clear liner element to them what i would change next
time is that ive made sure the object i have taken is in the frame

Composistion rule 4:SymmetryThis rule is used to mak more of an eye-catching image used what can be use with backgrounds or objects finding symmetry can be in the unexpected of places without the use of editing. To use this rule the symmetry you are trying to capture should have ther line of the symmtery down the middle of the camera for this rule framing is important. In my photo i used this rule by the symmetry of two seperate chairs placed in the same position opposite eachother besides from the objects (chairs) i made sure the framing way equal on both side to emphasis my point of symmetry.

Composistion rule 5 :Balancing elements
Balancing elements is used when your main focus is not within the centre of your image but to balances it out and give it more of a filled photo your less of intrest is placed in the photo as a contrasting object. The rule was used in my photo by my lesser important object complimenting my centre of focus  in a creative way which makes the eyes draw to my main subject rather than the bigger objects. How i would improve this rule is by showing a clear balance between my to objects by both of them being futher from the centre of the screen.

Continuity Editing Exercise

Continuity editing

What scenario were you asked to work to?
In a group of three i was asked to make a video which contained shot reverse shot and match on action match on action is showed by the connection of two shots one a man opening a door and the other shot him then walking through it the editing has to be in goood timing and presis for this to flow nicely together also shot reverse shot is used by a conversation of two people, person one will be shown in the first showed  then goes to person two to see a reaction or response then goes back to person one.

What were the key media language skills you were trying to demonstrate?
Shot reverse shot and match on action.

Who did you work with to plan and fillm?
In my group there was Jared sincliar and Serfie Odz

How successful was this grouping?
The grouping was very sucsessful we had clear role and stuck to them very well as we work well as a team.

How did you use your creativity to develop the scenario?
We used this by doing an interview the interviewee entering tht room and exiting for the match on action and the interviewer and interviewee for the shot reverse shot.
How useful was your storyboard?
The storyboard was very usefull as we never had to make any major channge.

What did you change and what did you stick to?
The order of the shots where chanaged but stuck we with what was planned to film.
